In 1978, I moved to Arkansas and landed a job with USDA APHIS testing cattle for brucellosis. I started working in the fall of 1979 for Caldwell Farms in Rosebud as the ranch manager. 

In 1986, My wife Anne and I moved to Quitman to manage Arklan, Inc. ranch operations. 

In 1999, the Arklan ranch had a complete herd dispersal when the owner retired and we leased the entire ranch starting our preconditioning business known as Bar F Cattle, Inc. 

In December 2015, we purchased our seed heifers and by August of 2018 we discontinued the preconditioning business in order to solely focus on our cow/calf operation. 

I’ve been ranching for 40 years and it's been a great career for my family and a way of life I truly enjoy. 

In 2019, we began offering our beef products directly to the consumer.

All of our Angus cross cattle are born on Fry’s East Fork Cattle Company and are raised on native grasses with grain offered at finishing.  No antibiotics or added growth hormones are ever used.  Our ranch is BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) certified and all beef is inspected and vacuum packaged at a USDA facility.
